We are delighted to invite you to a unique virtual course on fetal echocardiography and vascular systems.

This one-day event is designed for specialists in feto-maternal medicine and will focus on the latest advancements in fetal cardiovascular imaging. Expert speakers will provide a comprehensive overview, covering many topics from early diagnosis to complex anomalies.

Through high-resolution ultrasound, color Doppler, and 3D imaging, we will explore guidelines, normal and abnormal fetal heart anatomy, practical examination techniques, and evolving first-trimester screening methods and the potential of automation and artificial intelligence.

Specialists, including Dr. Abuhamad, Dr. Benoit and Dr. Chaoui, and other invited speakers, will share their expertise with presentations, case demonstrations, and interactive discussions. The motto is „all you wanted to know about the fetal heart“ will be answered. The lectures will be presented with live discussion, but the meeting will be available asa recording, allowing you to revisit key insights at your convenience.

The Course is targeted on Ob&Gyn doctors, fetal-maternal medicine specialists, pregnancy care providers, cardiologists, geneticists, and all who is passionate in the field of fetal heart, prenatal ultrasound and genetics, and perinatology.

This one-day course has several parts: 1) Technical aspects of
cardiac scanning; 2) typical sentinel hints for diagnosing cardiac anomalies; 3) Management of cardiac anomaly including genetic and multidisciplinary counseling; 4) analyzing pitfalls and discussing potential of early scan and artificial intelligence.

During this day the speakers will focus on one hand on the practical „How to do“ and on the other hand on the clinical application. The examination of the fetal cardiac chambers and the great vessels will be discussed and cases demonstrated in 2D and color Doppler.

The course also provides comprehensive evaluation of different cardiac abnormalities, involving malformations of the cardiac chambers and the outflow tracts. Common and rare cases including syndromes will be demonstrated. First trimester cardiac screening in the era of NIPT has an evolving importance and will be discussed in the last session. Missing cases and wrongly interpreting others may lead to wrong diagnosis , and the role of AI in today´s cardiac screening will be discussed.
More about the course

Educational goals:
To improve knowledge of sonographers and fetal medicine specialists involved in prenatal
diagnosis in performing basic and advanced ultrasound examinations of the heart during different
stages of pregnancy
To provide an advanced course in obstetric ultrasound for health care providers
To demonstrate skillful scanning techniques for performing prenatal ultrasound using modern 2D
and 3D/4D approaches
To give awareness in differentiation of normal fetal anatomy and the most common fetal cardiac
anomalies and syndromic conditions
To recognize typical ultrasound features and sentinel signs suggesting specific diagnostic
conditions
To understand pitfalls in fetal echo and how to avoid them where possible
In the Program
